What is Scootle and how we use it to implement ICT in the classroom?

Good Morning Bloggers,

So a new week begins, and now its a week until EDC3100 assignment is due. Argh! However during the last week I was finishing up the learning journals for Week 2 and 3 and discovered this program called “Scottle“. At first I thought “Great, another program we have to learn and subscribe to”, just to confuse us all even more. But then I looked into it a bit more and its a really great website that will help all Pre-service teachers as well as Qualified teachers when discovering ways to present lessons on any subject taught in the classroom.

For instance, below is the link to the Year 1 Mathematics Curriculum Content Descriptor of “Develop confidence with number sequences to and from 100 by ones from any starting point. Skip count by twos, fives and tens starting from zero (ACMNA012)“. When this is selected in Scootle it offered 88 classroom resources that gives the teacher assistance with developing lesson plans to help with ensuring the children learn everything they need to for assessment based on that content descriptor.

Pretty safe to say that this website is going to be my saviour and new best buddy. Go check it out, see what you can find on the page.

Peace out,

Scootle’s #1 fan
